Bring your own hardware.
Posterita is hardware-agnostic. If your shop already runs an ESC/POS thermal printer, a HID barcode scanner, and a standard cash drawer wired through the printer, you're 90% of the way there. We don't make you throw it away to start.
Receipt printers
Any printer that speaks the ESC/POS command set works. That's the same standard the receipt builders in our Android app and PWA send bytes to — initialise, align, bold, double-height, cut. Both 80mm and 58mm paper widths are supported.

Barcode scanners
Any HID-keyboard-mode scanner just works — the till sees the scan as keyboard input into the product-lookup field. Both 1D (UPC, EAN, Code 128) and 2D (QR, Data Matrix) scanners are supported.

Cash drawers
Standard RJ11/RJ12 cash drawers wired through the receipt printer's kick-out port. The drawer opens automatically when the receipt prints — same as every other ESC/POS POS you've used.
Android tablets & Windows desktops
Posterita ships as a native Android app and a full offline-capable PWA. The Android app needs Android 10 or newer; the PWA runs on any modern Chrome, Edge, or Safari browser on Windows, macOS, or Linux. A 13" or 15" screen is comfortable; tablets from 8" up work for tight counters.
Compatible with brands you already know
As long as a device follows the standard — ESC/POS for printers, HID for scanners, RJ11 for cash drawers — it works with Posterita. Operators in our network are running hardware from Epson, Star Micronics, Bixolon, Citizen, Xprinter, Honeywell, Zebra, Datalogic, Symbol, and others.
We don't certify every model individually — there are too many. Send us the printer or scanner model on WhatsApp and we'll tell you in a minute whether the standard command set is supported.
What about iPad & iPhone?
The Posterita PWA runs in mobile Safari on iPad and iPhone. You can sign in, sell, take payment, and print to a network-connected ESC/POS receipt printer — same web POS your team would use on a Windows till.
What we don't have today is a native iOS app on the App Store. The native app is Android only. If a native iOS app is a hard requirement for you — say, because you want USB printers wired directly to an iPad, or you want to install from the App Store rather than "Add to Home Screen" — Posterita isn't the right fit yet. We'll tell you that on the first call instead of after you've signed up.
In practice, most of our merchants run Android tablets or Windows desktops — both are cheaper than iPads, and the hardware accessory ecosystem (USB printers, USB scanners, cash drawers) is more forgiving.
